The University of Cyprus and the Nicolas Economou Foundation would like to invite you to a presentation in memory of the late legendary musician Nicolas Economou, presented by Dr Elmar Zorn. The presentation takes place on Saturday, 23 May at Kasteliotissa, Nicosia at 8:30 p.m.

Programme:

  • Introductory speech by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the University of Cyprus, Mr Constantinos Christofides.

  • Short speech about the Nicolas Economou Foundation by the President of the Foundation, Mr Chris Phylactou.

  • Presentation on Nicolas Economou, by Dr Elmar Zorn, former General Secretary of the "European Academy of Arts and Science" of Salzburg, of which Nicolas Economou was a member of, and Freelance Artistic Director of Cultural matters.

  • Multimedia presentation on Nicolas Economou.

  • Performance of  six pieces from Nicolas Economou's cycle of compositions "Eight Nocturnes" (duration:20') by Tania Economou.

 

Το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου και το Ίδρυμα Νικόλα Οικονόμου, σας προσκαλούν σε παρουσίαση από τον Δρ Elmar Zorn, εις μνήμην του διακεκριμένου μουσικού Νικόλα Οικονόμου, που θα πραγματοποιηθεί το Σάββατο,23 Μαϊου 2009 στην Καστελιώτισσα στις 8:30μ.μ.

Η είσοδος είναι ελεύθερη.

Πρόγραμμα

 

  • Χαιρετισμός από τον Πρύτανη Ακαδημαϊκών Υποθέσεων του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου, Καθηγητή Κωνσταντίνο Χριστοφίδη.

  • Χαιρετισμός και σύντομη ομιλία για το Ίδρυμα Νικόλα Οικονόμου από τον Πρόεδρό του, κ. Χρήστο Φυλακτού.

  • Γενική ομιλία για την προσωπικότητα του Νικόλα Οικονόμου και ειδική αναφορά στη διαπολιτισμικότητά του, από τον Δρ Elmar Zorn, πρώην Γενικό Γραμματέα της "Ευρωπαϊκής Ακαδημίας Τεχνών και Επιστημών" του Σαλτσμπουργκ, μέλος της οποίας ήταν και ο Νικόλας Οικονόμου, Πολιτιστικός παράγων του Δήμου Μονάχου τη δεκαετία του 1980 και  ανεξάρτητος Καλλιτεχνικός Διευθυντής Πολιτιστικών θεμάτων. 

  • Παρουσίαση και προβολή οπτικοακουστικού υλικού για τον Νικόλα Οικονόμου.

  • Εκτέλεση εικοσάλεπτου κύκλου συνθέσεων του Νικόλα Οικονόμου για πιάνο "Eight Nocturnes" από την  πιανίστα Τάνια Οικονόμου.
